Description

A superb contemporary oil on linen portrait “Rominha in Red” by Troy Argyros. Exhibited Florence Academy of Art July 2024 and Lennox Gallery Richmond 2025 and painted from life at Piazza Santissima Annunziata  60cm x 50cm.      Based in Florence and trained at the Florence Academy of Art,   Australian realist painter Troy Argyros is currently accepting commissions for portraits.   “My interest is currently in the simple portrayal of the human face and exploration of the subtle and ambiguous thoughts and emotions that the model may be experiencing or that I am subconsciously expressing through the vehicle of the model.  Our appearance fascinates me, particularly the impression seen at a distance of a few meters; the softness that space and atmosphere create. “
