Description

A most charming 17th century oil on canvas painting depicting a small boy presenting a platter of pastries.  A most beautifully and sensitively rendered painting attributed to Antonio Mercurio Amorosi,  Comunaza 1660- Rome 1738. The composition typical of his paintings most often  portraying children and scenes of everyday life. The painting presents in excellent condition with fine cracklure and has been relined in the 20th century.  A painting of near identical subject and composition by Amorosi was sold by Tajan Paris Oct. 17, 2016.
